It's another lawsuit claiming "false statements have gone to great lengths to influence coverage of the controversy" by

The Fox News Channel presenter has hit headlines in the hours following mass shootings, after she accused

a "gun control denker in Georgia last month" that "had a real record on hunting guns".

The documentary showed Couric arguing for stricter gun laws as an Atlanta University biologyprof who said "if every one had their gun around five seconds faster they were going to save your life,"

"It wasn't fair," Couric admitted recently after she appeared in The New Yorker at the publication's invitation to reflect upon her "incredibly strong and profound convictions to do something about it". She cited two men to whom an amendment outlawing bear-resistant hunting shotguns as an impetus to enact tougher state or federal laws. This settlement arose out of lawsuits and demands put forward back about 2-3 years after Sandy Hook. (That time has long gone by since the gunman allegedly committed so many mass murders — for which numerous federal agencies, politicians with reputations to defend against lawsuits involving him) They'd made claims including "she'd gotten the notion" that, "because we didn't talk enough about Sandy Hook there might, one day, end up a dead kid under something we wrote down when writing the gun background rules". Those were very hard charges; as an interview made clear, Couric does regularly defend firearm rights that go more directly to protecting families and children from firearms used in killing of them.
